Sister Nancy Girroir, in religion, Sister Marie St-Conrad, Fille de Jésus, passed away on Thursday March 15, 2018, at Monarch Hall, Riverview, at the age of 98, and in her 77th year of religious profession. Born in West Arichat, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Mabel Girroir.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by a nephew, five nieces, and a niece who she considered as her sister, Rosie Forgeron of Halifax, N.S.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was predeceased by sisters: Pétronille, Éva Mae, f.j., Geneviève, Sophie, and brothers: Edmond, Euclide, Raymond, Thomas O.F., and Father Conrad.
She was a teacher for 37 years, in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Alberta.
Thank you to the staff of Canterbury Hall and Monarch Hall for the care provided to Nancy during the past 10 years.
Her remains will be resting at the Maison-Mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame du Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) from where the funeral mass will be celebrated in their chapel on Monday March 19 at 2 pm. Visiting hours are from 1 pm until time of funeral with a prayer celebration at 1:30 pm. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
