
Rita Melanson, 90, of Villa Heritage, Moncton, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born November 6, 1927 in Notre-Dame, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Laudia (Saulnier) Melanson.
She was a school bus driver for many years prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her best friend, Olive Gallant with whom she resided; a sister, Mildred Collette (late Georges); nieces Jeannette, Murielle, Angela, and Réjeanne.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Thursday from 7-9 pm, and Friday, from 12:30 until departure (1:40). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Lawrence O’Toole R.C. Church, Irishtown, Friday March 16 at 2 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Rita, a contribution to NB Lung Association or to the Irishtown Cemetery would be appreciated.
