Sister Laura Cormier, ndsc, in religion Sr. Robert-Marie, of Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday March 11, 2018 at the convent where she resided.
She was 91 years old and in her 75th year of her religious life. Born May 26, 1926 in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Émilia (Richard) Cormier.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by two sisters: Carmella Horsman (late Ronald) and Norma Parkhill (Gerald) both of Moncton; one brother: Hector J. Cormier of Moncton; one sister-in-law: Rose-Marie Cormier of Moncton as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers: Robert, Aldé, Albert and two infants.
Sister Cormier will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Wednesday from 2 to 8:30 pm and on Thursday from 9 am until the funeral mass. Solemn Vespers will be held on Wednesday evening at 7 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 15 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. Interment will be in Memramcook. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
