Jacques Goguen, 53, formerly of Caissie Street, passed away at the Villa Providence on Thursday March 1, 2018. Born in Shediac on March 17th, 1964, he was the son of Maria (Ouellet) and the late Joseph Goguen.
Jacques made several trips to Chicoutimi, Québec and Montreal for doctor consultation, operations and rehabilitation as a child. He attended workshop for handicap persons in Cap-Pelé for many years where he made different types of crafts. Although he attended special needs classes where he learned braille, he self-educated himself with talking books, listening to newscasts and quiz shows on television.
He loved to make drawings, listening to music and sports, especially hockey. He loved trains, planes and snowmobiles but most of all, it was to joke around and tease others. He also loved to receive the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishop publication. He would memorize many of the Bishops and their locations. He had a passion for air show flight demonstration teams, especially his favorite, the Canadian Forces 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, the Snowbirds. He attended several air shows featuring the Snowbirds.
He is survived by his loving mother, Maria; two sisters: Marielle Lirette (Charles) of Shediac and Josette Goguen of Grand-Sault and by two nephews: Mathieu (Josée) and Rémi as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Sunday, March 4th from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph R. C. church, Shediac on Monday, March 5th at 11 am.
In memory of Jacques, a contribution to the Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Association of Canada or the CNIB would be appreciated.
