Simon Meunier, 79, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness.

Born July 9, 1938 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Simon and Madeleine (Saulnier) Meunier.

He is survived by Marie (née Lirette), his wife of 57 years; five children: Paul, Dorine Bastarache (Robert Phillips), Francis, Ronald, and Mary-Ann Poirier (Raymond); 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; four sisters: Dolores Meunier, Jeannine Gaudet, Marguerite Girouard, and Simone LeBlanc (Emile).

Simon is also predeceased by his sisters Bertha, and Claire.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton, from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27 at 2 p.m.

Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
