Sylvie Lavoie, 82, wife of the late Gérald Lavoie, of Moncton, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital following a brief illness. Born March 22, 1935 in Richiboucto-Village, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Babineau) Richard.

Sylvie is survived by her six children: Ulysse, Robert, Daniel, Janice Colic (Alex), Marc (Leilani), and Gérald (Mélanie); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings: Emma Mazerolle (late Charlie), Doris Melanson (late Laurie), Rose-Marie Strachan (Bob), Alberte Richard (Tom McLaughlin), Benoit (late Pat), Alfred (Rita), and Paul-Émile (Louise).

Besides her husband, she is also predeceased by two sisters: Jacqueline, and Juliette; four brothers: Yvon, Noé, Laurent, and Odilon.

At her request, the funeral service was private. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Sylvia, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
