It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Gould Allain from Moncton, NB, on Friday, July 28, 2017, after her long battle with cancer.  

Born in McNairn, Kent County, NB, on March 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late William John and Marion (Poirier) McDonald. 

She leaves surviving her husband, Joseph Eve Allain; five step sons: David (Cheryl) of Charlton, Ma., Paul (Lynn) of Dudley, Ma., Raymond (Elaine) of Framingham, Ma., Jimmy (Cindy) of Southbridge, Ma., Brian  (Lisa) of Charlton, Ma.; one sister, Mary Gauvin (late Ronald), of Naples Fla.; many grandsons, granddaughters, nieces, nephews; two sisters-in-law: Yvonne Cormier McDonald of St. Antoine, NB, and Lucy Richard McDonald from Waltham, Ma.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Clarence Gould; her five brothers: Oscar McDonald (late Marie Cormier), Yvon McDonald (Yvonne Cormier), Roderick McDonald (late Dora Collette), Frank McDonald (Late Marie LeBlanc Gautreau), Alfred McDonald (Lucy Richard); her four sisters:  Adeline Gaudet (late Eloi), Corinne Richard (late Emery), Bertha Roy (late Henri), Gertrude LeBlanc (Late Claude).

Patricia and her first husband, Clarence, moved to the United States shortly after they married and lived in Massachusetts for several years, where she worked at several companies.  Upon their return to Canada, Patricia was employed at the Georges L. Dumont Hospital, in Moncton, NB.

The family would like to thank the staff and doctors at the oncology and palliative care departments of the Georges L. Dumont Hospital for their support and wonderful care.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton, NB, from where the funeral service will be celebrated Thursday, August 3 at 4:00 PM, Father Allison Carroll officiating. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 PM. A reception in the centre will follow.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Dumont UHC Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
