
Alain Bertrand, 57, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on September 16, 1959 in Baie-Comeau, Qué., he was the son of Jean-Guy and Alice (Chevarie) Bertrand of St-Jean, Qué.
Prior to his retirement in 2005, Alain worked at the call centre of Via Rail.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary-Ann née Arsenault; three sisters: Lucy Grey (Daniel) of Ontario, Lise Bertrand of St-Jean, Qué., and Lynn Bertrand (Denis) of Chicoutimi, Qué.; one brother, Denis Bertrand (Kathryn) of Dartmouth, N.S.; one uncle, René Chevarie (Lucia) of Magdalen Islands, Qué.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Eric (2007), as well as several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 9 am until time of departure (9:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church, 52 Falkland Street, Moncton on Saturday July 29 at 10 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Alain, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
