
Geraldine Arseneau-Gaudet, of Shediac, passed away surrounded by her loving family of a brief illness at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre at the age of 88, on Sunday July 23, 2017. Born on September 18, 1928 in Rogersville, she was the daughter of the late John and Alida (Robichaud) Boisvert. She was a retired custodian for the Université de Moncton and Brenda Robertson. She was under the care of her family for the past three years.
She is survived by her four daughters: Chantal Cormier (Bernard), Gladys Marshall (Andrew), Solange Arseneau and Rosemonde Landry (Daniel); one brother, Charlie Boisvert (late Liza); two half-sisters: Aldine Dow and Ida Boisvert; six grandchildren: Christopher, Stephanie, Laura, Rebecca, Sarah and Joel; three great-grandchildren: River, Lexie and Coralie; seven step children: Rachel (Francis), Patsy (Edmond), Maurice, Jean-Paul (Eva), Denise (Léonce), Louis (Monique) and Guy (Nancy), as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her biological mother, Gladys (Morton) Boisvert; first husband, Gerard (2002); second husband, Albion Gaudet (2014); three sons: infant, Bertrand (1952), Reno (1974) and Gabriel (2012); one half-brother, Roger; one granddaughter, Émilie (1993).
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac. Visiting hours are Tuesday, July 25 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Jacques-Le-Majeur RC Church, 3091 Route 132, Scoudouc, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 2 pm. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
In memory of Geraldine, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (palliative care unit) or to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick will be appreciated.
