
Lloyd William Allain, 70, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Monday July 17, 2017 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on June 7, 1947 in Moncton, he was the youngest of six children of the late Alyre and Novell (Perry) Allain.
Lloyd began his career in 1963 with CN as a carman apprentice, retiring in 1997 as Mechanical Officer for the Maritime District.
Having a great love for music, Lloyd was a Drummer in the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s for such popular groups as The Crystals, The Bunkhouse Boys, The Light, and The Spades. He loved playing his Martin Guitar and doing old country classics with his family and friends.
A "Life Member" with the Knights of Columbus, Council 1310, Lloyd donated countless hours to the upkeep of their building and the success of their bingo.
He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 50 years, Rose née Poirier; three sons: Mike, Ken, and Dan and their loved ones who blessed him with seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, the joys of his life; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Doris; and four brothers: Bob (Dorilla), Clarence (Corinne), George (Jane), and Gordon (late Gloria).
The family will receive condolences at The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday July 20 at noon. Reception in the funeral centre will follow.
Visiting hours Wednesday from 6 to 9 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of funeral service.
Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
