Gerald Leger, 62, passed away on Sunday, June 25th, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC surrounded by his family. Born April 12th, 1955 in Grand-Barachois, he was the son of the late Alphie and Delphine (Leger) Leger.

During his life, Gerald proudly worked at Home Hardware in Cap-Pelé as a Forman for 10 years. He greatly enjoyed his work, co-workers and customers. Prior to this, he worked at Seacoast Fishing Supplies and was a well-respected fisherman in the area for many years. He was a great friend to many people in the community. He loved to laugh, carry-on and tell jokes. His favorite past-time was riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Georgette (LeBlanc); one brother, Léo (Yvette); three sisters: Rosella Cormier (Euclide Richard), Jeannine Joyce (late Wayne) and Denise Vautour (Léo-Paul); 18 nieces and nephews; special family friend, Claude LeBlanc; extended family, dear friends and pet dog, Bailey.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of support and visits to Gerald from friends, co-workers at Home Hardware and the community.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 9-11 am.

In memory of Gerald, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC (oncology) would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297).
