It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Eva Melanson, at the age of 96 years. She passed away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont hospital on Tuesday June 13, 2017. Formerly of Saint-Paul-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Philias and Marie (Léger) Belliveau. She was a resident of Manoir Notre-Dame, Murphy Avenue, Moncton before being hospitalized.
Our mother, source of courage, determination and generosity, was an admirable mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and deeply loved by her children: Yvette Richard (Thomas), Murielle Dionne (Paul), Délia Léger (Léo), Gilberte Belliveau (Oscar), Roméo (Huberte LeBlanc), Elmo (Claudette DeVarennes), Vincent (Georgina Toner), Yves and Florent (Janice Maillet). She will be missed by her 19 grandchildren: Christiane, Brigitte, Sylvette, Jocelyn, Lisa, Lyne, Julien, Marco, Raphaël, Jérémie, Isabelle, Philippe, Josée, Annick, Stéphane, Martine, Eric, Christine and Janelle, as well as 7 great-grandchildren: Amélie, Audrée, Kaleb, Ellia, Brody, Megane and Nicolas; her sisters and brothers: Marguerite LeBlanc, Cécile Comeau, Sr. Délia Belliveau, ndsc, Eric and Aldérice Belliveau; her sister-in-law, Idella Belliveau, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Valérie; one infant daughter, p’tite Murielle; one infant sister Eva; her brothers: Gérald, Laurie, Léo and Ulysse.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude towards the staff of the Manoir Notre-Dame of Moncton who made "Mame’s" stay so pleasant. Thank you for your exceptional care, your warm smiles, your compassion and your empathy.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Paul R.C. Church, 6476 Route 515, Saint-Paul-de-Kent on Monday June 19 at 11 am. The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and at the church in Saint-Paul-de-Kent, Monday from 9:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation or to the Parish of Saint-Paul-de-Kent would be appreciated.
