Ella Gagnon, 97, formerly of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday June 13, 2017 at the Foyer Saint-Thomas in Memramcook. Born on July 17, 1919 in Memramcook, she was the daughter of the late Irenée and Julienne (Cormier) Melanson.

She is survived by two daughters: Patricia Gaudet (Pierre) of Memramcook, and Carol Godbout (Charles) of Moncton; one special niece, Simone Hughes (Douglas) of Moncton; five grandchildren: Daniel (Rosa), Nicole (Patrick), Lise (O.J.), Suzanne, and Melanie (Renelle); eight great-grandchildren: Veronica, Eve, Abby, Marc-André, Luc, Geneviève, Gabrielle, and Joey; one sister-in-law, Elodie Gautreau of Dieppe; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Zéphir (2002); seven sisters: Marie, Sarah, Évangéline, Mélindée, Polly, Irma, and Doris; three brothers: Adélard, Frank, and Phillias.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Monday June 19 at 11 am.

Reception following.

Visiting hours are Monday from 9 am until time of funeral.

Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
