
Léonide Breau, 92, of Villa Providence and formerly of Cocagne, passed away on Sunday May 21, 2017 at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born November 15, 1924 in Breau-Village, he was the son of the late Alyre and Elise (Gallant) Breau.
Prior to his retirement, Léonide worked at Eudore Melanson Store in Cocagne for over 30 years. He was a member of the Golden Age Club of Cocagne and Notre Dame de la Paix in Moncton.
He is survived by two daughters: Angela Robichaud (Marc) of Shediac and Diane Stone (Tim) of Moncton; two sons: Gérald (Catriona Talbot) of Halifax, N.S., and Camille (Denise) of Cocagne; one sister, Alida McLean of Saint John; his special friend, Yvonne Gauvin; four grandchildren: Marcia, Nadine, Jeremy and Stephanie; one step-granddaughter, Fiona, many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Andrea (2005); two sisters: Aldéa and Orilla; three brothers: Gérald and infants, Osias and Joseph.
The family will receive condolences at St. Pierre R.C. Church, Cocagne on Thursday May 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Friday from 10 am until time of funeral. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday May 26, 2017 at 11 am at Saint-Pierre R.C. Church, Cocagne. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
At the request of the family, memorial donations to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
