Alcide Gagnon, 92, of Moncton, passed away on Friday May 5, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born on April 5, 1925 in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Albénie and Sophie (Thériault) Gagnon.
Alcide was a chartered accountant and supervisor with the province of New Brunswick’s provincial sales tax department. He was also comptroller at the Institut de Memramcook for 10 years from 1968 to 1978. He was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus and had a great passion for stocks and investments.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Aurore née LeBlanc; one daughter, Lissa Gagnon (Michelle Daigle) of Moncton; three sons: Marc (Claudette Couture) and Jean-Luc (Sylvie Babin), both of Moncton, and Gilles (Janice Gagnon) of Sussex; nine grandchildren: Adam, Suzanne, Kristen, Sébastien, Isabelle, Wesley, Justine, Nicolas, and Cassie; two great-grandchildren: Zaiden and Kian; one sister, Camilla (Guy) Savoie of Dieppe; three brothers: Joseph (late Jocelyne) and Jean-Guy (Noëlla), both of Moncton, and Brother Merville of La Prairie, Qué.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by six brothers: Paul-Eugène, Aquila, Arsène, Zachary, as well as infants Joseph and Joseph Antonio.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton on Monday May 8 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Alcide, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
