Vital Desroches, 87, of Shediac and formerly of Grande-Digue and Moncton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 3rd, 2017 at the Villa Providence. Born on November 8th, 1929 in Saint-Louis-De-Kent, he was the son of the late Philias and Apolline (Daigle) Desroches.

Vital was a kind and gentle man who was very close to his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, doing crossword puzzles and occasional trips to the Casino N.B. In his retirement he also loved to spend time gardening at his cottage in Grande-Digue. His working career included being a member of the RCAF, working in investments, driving taxis and eventually working for over 20 years at DSS in Shediac to finish his career as a part-time commissioner at DSS.

He is survived by his five sisters: Ethel Dupuis, Catherine Maillet (Lawrence), Laureanne Mazerolle, Sr. Marie-Anne Desroches n.d. and Jeanette LeBlanc; two brothers: Yvon (Gervaise) and Alphonse (Jeannine) , as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his two sisters: Diana Guimond and Yvette LeBlanc; two brothers: Alcide and Adrien.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, from where the funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday May 9th, 2017 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 8:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in St. Louis des Français R.C. cemetery in Saint-Louis-de-Kent.
