
Normand Bourque, 89, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 13, 2017, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.
Born on July 19, 1927, in Cocagne, he was the son of the late Donat and Philomène (Bourgeois) Bourque.
He is survived by his daughter, Janice Mole (Kevin) of Ottawa; two sons: Maurice (Annette) of Lower Coverdale and Donald (Brenda) of Moncton, six grandchildren: Michael, Denise, Amy, Marc, Danielle and Cara; three great-granddaughters; Nicole, Cassidy and Sophia, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Normand, along with his late wife Valda, was the owner of Maritime Braiding and enjoyed a long career as a ship builder, manager and businessman. In retirement, he had many hobbies and pastimes but was best recognized for his award-winning model wooden ships; many of which can be found in homes and businesses around the world.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Valda née Daigle; also, three sisters: Lorraine Wade, Edna LeBlanc and Justine; four brothers: Edgar, Gérard, Arthur and Leo.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Thursday, April 20th from 2 pm until departure (3:45) for Notre-Dame-de-Grace R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton, from where the funeral mass will be celebrated at 4 pm. A reception will follow.
Interment will be in the Frenette Columbarium, Moncton.
