Lucy Gallant, 92, formerly of Dieppe, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 9, 2017 at Drew Nursing Home in Sackville. Born on October 18, 1924 in Morrell, P.E.I., she was the daughter of the late in Vincent and Sadie (Montgomery) Ranahan.

She is survived by five children: Mary Knighton (Rob) of Riverview, Jean Goguen (Charlie), Michael, Joey (Karen), and John, all of Dieppe; one sister, Bonnie McKinnon (late Leonard) of P.E.I.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Pius; one son, Peter; two sisters: Jean and Marie; one brother, Bert.

Lucy was a devoted wife and mother always putting her family’s needs ahead of her own. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with friends, walking in the park and Sunday afternoon dances. Her quick wit was enjoyed by all who knew her and will never be forgotten.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s R.C. Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Wednesday April 12 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Lucy, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
