Laura Bastarache, 97, formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Sunday February 26, 2017 at the Villa Providence in Shediac. Born on January 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Azelia (Goguen) Poirier.

She is survived by four sons: Clarence "Cail" (Marie) of Dieppe, Gerald (Anna) of Moncton, Francis (Louise) of Riverview and Donald (Janetta) of Rothesay; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Clarence, she was predeceased by her daughter, Diane; one infant son, Robert; four sisters: Eveline, Emeline, Aurea and Corinne.

The family received condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral was celebrated on Tuesday February 28 at 4 pm. Visiting hours were Monday February 27 from 7pm to 9pm and Tuesday from 2pm until time of funeral. A reception followed at the centre. Interment in the Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Laura, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
