Yvonne Cormier, 96, of Manoir Notre-Dame, Moncton, passed away on Friday February 17, 2017 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born August 15, 1920 in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late Isaïe and Régina (Girouard) Léger.
Yvonne enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards, bingo and listening to music.
She is survived by one son, Roger (Catherine) of Moncton; two daughters: Paulette Léger (Maurice) of Grand-Barachois, and Gisèle Bonham (Alan) of Jupiter, Florida; seven grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda, Dr. Yves, Luc, Kurt, Mathieu, and Gabrielle; five great-grandchildren: Olivier, Félix, Emma, Ève and Laurence; one sister, Dorina LeBlanc (Alphonse) of Sudbury, ON; one brother, Ulysse of Moncton as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Télesphore "Telex" (2008); four sisters: Germaine, Hélène, Lorette and Huberte; five brothers: Léonard, Yvon, Néri, Hervé and Valentin "Val".
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 9:30 am until time of departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Wednesday February 22, 2017 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Yvonne, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (palliative care unit) would be appreciated.
