It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Annette Gautreau, of Moncton, on Saturday December 31, 2016, at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Center from ovarian cancer.

Born in Moncton on March 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Blair E and the late Hermine (LeBlanc) Gautreau.

She leaves to mourn her sister, Gérène Gautreau with whom she resided; two goddaughters: Diane Elkins (Jim) of Ledyard, CT, and Mary Lou Beaton (Joe) of Dartmouth, NS; also several cousins.

Following her studies at the Provincial Laboratory School of Medical Technology at Saint John, NB in 1966, Annette began a 39 year career at The Moncton Hospital Regional Laboratory in Microbiology.

Annette had a passion for history, genealogy and new cuisines.  She traveled to various European countries to discover new cultures and foods.

By request, there will be no visitation at the Frenette Funeral Centre.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 226 St. George Street, Moncton, on Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 11 am. A reception at the Frenette Funeral Centre will follow immediately after the funeral.

Interment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe in the spring.
