Yvon Doiron, 80, of Shediac, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Dr.-Georges-L. Dumont UHC following a lengthy illness. Born in Barachois, July 24, 1936, he was the son of the late Edgar and Ella (Brun) Doiron.

He is survived by two daughters: Jane D'Arcy (Jim) and Ashley Doiron (Ron); six stepchildren: Tara McGowan (Rob),  Tracy McGowan, Rose Gautreau (Roland), Francis ‘Frank’ Fougère, Jackie Girouard (Lyle) and Guy Fougère (Odette); brothers and sisters: Auguste ( late Jeannette), Ovide (Carole), Florence (Jean-Paul), Léonne, Normand (Carmel) and Marcel (Bernice);  grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Jennifer, Benson, Adam, Brandon, Monique, Derek, Chloe, Grace, Brandon, Ally, Seth, Abby, Cassidy, Stéphanie, Stéphane and Isabelle; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Annette (2016) and his ex-wife Donna (2012).

Yvon was retired from Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be celebrated in the chapel of Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Tuesday January 3, 2017 at 11 am. Inurnment will be in the columbarium of the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac.

In memory of Yvon, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
