Oscar Joseph Gallant, 91, of Dieppe, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont UHC following a lengthy illness. Born September 28, 1925 in Dieppe, he was the son of the late Émile and Marguerite (Surette) Gallant.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine née Daigle; a son, Brent (Charlene); step-daughter, Cécile Daigle (Gilles); his sisters and brothers: Violet Allbright, Gloria Allain, Irene Dutcher (Laurie), Paul (Carol), Eugene (Diane); step-grandchildren: Sarah, Julie, and Eric; step-great-grandchildren: Noah, and Caleb.

Oscar is predeceased by his first wife, Cathy née Dunn; siblings: Florence, Doreen, Edna, Roy, Bill, Norman, Ben, and Edward.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and Thursday from 10 am until departure (10:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse R.C. Church, 160 Ste-Thérèse Street, Dieppe, on Thursday, December 8 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Oscar, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
