Valida Belliveau, 82, of Moncton NB, loving wife of late Edmond, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 6th, 2016 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC in Moncton. Born in Notre Dame (Norwest) on March 27th, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Pierre and late Emma (Babineau) Hebert.
She worked at Université de Moncton for many years where she spread her special care for students and faculties. She always had a "Joie de vivre", very unselfish always living for others and telling everyone to pay it forward.
She was a tireless volunteer at Hôpital Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont, Veterans Health Centre, Villa du Repos, and various organisations of need. She was a volunteer and member of the Club d’âge d’or Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix and Club d’âge d’or de Dieppe.
Valida led a very active lifestyle. She was a former member of the Moncton Shamrocks Ladies Softball Team in early 1950’s and loved the Toronto Blue Jays. Until her passing, she bowled competitively, played darts and without saying, she loved playing her bingo, cards, and outings with her Villa Heritage Golden Girls.
She had a great love and concern for family and friends. Valida will be sadly missed by her three children: Léo (Denise) and Yvon from Moncton; Jeannine (Rick) Gould of Dieppe; she idolized her 4 grandchildren: Pierre (Jasmine) Belliveau of Dieppe, Natalie (Mike) Stewart, Stephanie Gould (Marco LeBlanc) and Natasha Gould (Nicholas Belliveau); 2 great grandchildren: Harrison and Sydney Stewart, whom she adored dearly. She also leaves to mourn her sister: Stella Hebert of Grande-Digue, her brothers: Albé (Thérese) of Grande-Digue, Albert (Bernadette) of Irishtown and Stanley (Marie-Paule) of Moncton and her special friend Corinne Gallant of Villa Heritage Moncton.
Valida was predeceased by her husband Edmond (1993); three brothers: Théodore, Melas, Fred; three sisters: Lina, Aline, Sara.
