
Emery Léger, 85, formerly of Cocagne, passed away on Saturday November 5, 2016 at the Villa Providence in Shediac following a lengthy illness. Born May 22, 1931 in Saint-Antoine, he was the son of the late Désirée and Marguerite (Maillet) Léger.
He worked 32 years as a salesman for Quality Concrete. After retirement he developed a passion for gardening. Each year his garden got bigger and bigger, that was his pride and joy.
He is survived by five daughters: Gisèle Caissie (Maurice "Benson"), Odette Gaudet (Maurice) and Denise Léger all of Cocagne, Charline LeBlanc (Jean-Marc) of Moncton and Joanne Cormier (Paul) of Shediac; step-daughter: Joanne Scallion of Moncton; four sisters: Léona LeBlanc ( late Éric), Géraldine Richard (late Henri) both of Saint-Antoine, Généva Boucher (late Joe), Dora Cormier (Normand) both of Moncton; one brother: Paul (Géraldine) of Saint-Antoine; two sisters-in-law: Alfreda Léger of Després-Village and Georgeline Léger of Saint-Antoine; ten grandchildren, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife Thérèse (2016), he was predeceased by two sisters: Edna and Edith; two brothers: Éric and Yvon.
Condolences will be received at St. Pierre R.C. Church Slumber Room, 2000, Route 535, Cocagne from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. Visiting hours are Friday from 1:30 p.m. until time of funeral service. Inurnment will be in Frenette Funeral Center Columbarium, Shediac.
