
Alyre Richard, 91, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the Moncton Veterans’ Health Centre.
Born August 8, 1925 in Acadieville, NB, he was the son of the late Narcisse and Evangéline (Thibodeau) Richard.
He was a Veteran of WWII that served overseas, he later worked at DND Supply Depot No.5 in Moncton, NB, and retired from the Catholic School Board in Kitchener, ON.
He is survived by six children: Jacques "Jimmy", Yvon (Linda), Linda Doiron (Raymond), Sandra Dawe (Dave), Ada Osment (Robert), Debbie Gallant (Eugene); 8 grandchildren: Jennifer, Giselle, Jason, Michael, Tania, Nicole, Julien and Jeremy; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Alyre is predeceased by his wife, Célia née Hébert (2007); his brothers and sisters: Raymond, Rita, Alphée, Marie, Jean, and Antoine. He was the last survivor of his immediate family.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday November 5, 2016 at 10:30 followed by a reception. Visiting hours will be from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Friday, November 4, 2016. The Royal Canadian Legion, Moncton Branch No. 6, will hold a service of remembrance Friday at 4 pm also at the funeral centre. In memory of Alyre, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
