Pier Furness, 65, of Moncton, passed away suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2016. Born on January 21, 1951 in Saint-Romain, QC, he was the son of Jacqueline Bélanger and the late Charles Furness.

Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Nathalie Allaire; three sons: Jonatan and Alexandre, both of Moncton, and Matieu, of Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré, QC; his nephew Olivier from Montreal; cousins and friends from across the country, wherever his life brought him.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by one brother, Claude.

Pier was passionate about politics, business and sports, particularly cycling. He proudly participated in the Tour of Hope at two occasions. Through his work he travelled the world, but it was his time spent as general manager of Le pays de la Sagouine that made the biggest mark on him. A number of SMEs and agencies in New Brunswick also benefited from his knowledge and expertise. He will be sorely missed by his children he adored.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where a celebration of life will be celebrated on Friday, November 4 at 10:30 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium. In memory of Pier, a contribution to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
