
Henry J. Bourgeois, 97, of the Villa Providence, Shediac and formerly of Scoudouc, passed away at his residence on Wednesday October 19th, 2016. Born in Scoudouc on May 24th, 1919, he was the son of the late Albénie & Eugénie (Melanson) Bourgeois.
He was WW11 veteran serving four years with the Royal Canadian Army in artillery and was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Scoudouc. He was a retired carman with CNR with 36 years of service.
Henry is survived by his children: Marie-Thérèse Cormier (Georges), Bernard (Dorothy) and Hélène Gallant (Jean-Guy Richard) all of Shediac; seven grandchildren: Serge, Vincent, Christine, Nadine, Joline, Nicole, Marc and twelve great grandchildren: Ashley, Alysha, Kyana, Caleb, Lexie, Elizabeth, Isabelle, Rebecca, Benjamin, Luc, Nicolas and Henri-Sebastien. He is survived by son-in-law, Leslie Gallant.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite (2015), née Bourque, one son: Jean; four brothers: Siméon, Valérie, Léandre, Yvon and three sisters: Dora Bourgeois, Lorraine Lovelock, infant Marie; granddaughter Lisa and son-in-law, Roger Gaudet.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Friday October 21st from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm only. The funeral mass will be held in St. Jacques le Majeur RC church, 3091 route 132, Scoudouc on Saturday October 22nd at 10:30pm followed by a reception at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre in Shediac. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
