I wish to express my deepest condolences for your loss. I worked with Joanne at the Pension Centre for several years. Just 2 days ago, I asked your brother, John, how was Joanne. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. Always in a good mood, would say hello when you seen her at work. I also met Jennifer at work. She was very nice, just like her Mom.
I hope that you can all find the strength and courage to get through this very difficult time.
— Debby Rchard

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I had a chance to work with Joanne when I first started working at the Pension Centre. Joanne had a special gift in bringing smiles and sometimes bringing out her many talents as, I believe, Matilda. A special character that came to celebrate some events at work.
She will dearly be remembered.
My condolences to the family for their loss.
Claudette.

In Loving Memory of Joanne
Beloved sister, twin, and friend
“Thank you for loving me.”
Five simple words… yet they carry the entire story of her heart.
To Dwight and the entire family, and to all who loved Joanne,
Please accept my deepest sympathies.
As her twin, I feel your grief as deeply as my own, but I also feel immense gratitude for the precious bond we shared.
Joanne lived her life helping others quietly, without needing recognition. She once wondered if she would leave an imprint on this world.
My answer now is simple and certain:
Yes. Without a doubt.
Her kindness touched everyone she met.
She made people feel seen, valued, and uplifted, often without even realizing it.
She inspired me every day of our life together.
As we remember her, let us continue her legacy by planting the same seeds of compassion, warmth, and gratitude she spread everywhere she went. In doing so, we honor her spirit and carry her light forward.
Farewell, my dear sister.
I love you so much.
Until we meet again.
With love,
Suzanne & Family

I wanted to share a few words simply as Suzanne’s son and someone who always cared for Aunt Joanne. To everyone who held Joanne close in their hearts, please accept my deepest condolences. When I was growing up, our families lived far apart, so I rarely had the chance to see her and never fully grasped the depth of the twin bond she shared with my mom. It was only later, once I was older and spent more time around them, that I understood how unique and special their connection truly was. There was something instinctive between them, a way of thinking and loving that felt completely in sync, and that shaped how I saw her daughters too. They never felt like cousins in the usual sense. To me it always felt like having extra sisters because the love and instinct of our mothers naturally reached all of us. Joanne had a calm and steady kindness that made you feel welcome and understood the moment she looked at you. I pray that God welcomes her into His light and that the warmth she carried stays with the whole family in the days ahead, just as it always did when she walked into a room.
— Samuel
My deepest condolences to family and friends. She was truly a wonderful soul and she is now with the other angels whom she always knew were there as our guardians.

Dwight, Angela, Heidi, Jennifer and families
We send our heartfelt condolences to you all, holding you close in our hearts and prayers.
Sitting here listening to the cardinals, contemplating the loss of a dear sister.
How she shared her beautiful smile, spirit and kind heart. So full of love and light.
Her natural impulse was to offer support, guidance and care for all.
Till the very end she was thinking of others.
She spoke adoringly of her wonderful grandchildren and how so wished to spend more years with you all.
She was so grateful for the commitment, care, support and love she received.
I will especially cherish our conversations until her last few days and how she reminisced of fond childhood memories.
HER BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT WILL ALWAYS SHINE

It is with saddened hearts that we offer our deepest condolences' to Dwight, Angela, Heidi, Jennifer and their immediate families, spouses and partners.
It was not very long ago that I visited New Brunswick to see Joanne and brother in law Dwight as well as my 3 nieces (one from Alberta) and 2 great nieces Marissa and Melodie. Angela's 2 daughters Ellie and Aliyah (also my great nieces) did not make the trip this time and were at home in Edmonton AB
During my visits with Joanne we reminisced about many childhood items.
The one that I can never forget starts with Joanne and her twin sister Suzanne sitting in high chairs side by side. They were Identical Twins and Pa Calfat was trying to spoon feed them. Well all it took was a small distraction from one of our other siblings and Pa would yell out "I don't know which one I was feeding" Pa was constantly confusing the feeding order of the twins-LOL
With that said we bid you farewell dear sister; always knowing you will be with other family members keeping a watchful eye on all of us.

To Dwight and family, Joanne was a true lifesaver for my sister Ann at Villa Providence. She made Ann's life a wonderful experience and she was our true safeguard for Ann's wellbeing, and she was with Ann to the end of her days. I thoroughly enjoyed all my lunches with Joanne; she was a fountain of knowledge and love, and she possessed unique spiritual gifts. I will miss her words and positive influence in my life. I'm saddened to see her leave this earth so soon. My deepest condolences to her family. She was such a wonderful and loving person.

Dear Dwight and family, please receive our deepest condolences. We have fond memories of meeting up with you and Joanne in Shediac at Edwin and Laurie's place over our various summer vacations. We'll always remember Joanne for her joyful personality and her easy smile.
May the Lord apply a peaceful balm to your pained heart.

Joanne was a true angel on earth. My sister, Ann, was mentally handicapped and Joanne “adopted” her. Joanne treated her like a member of her family. She decorated her room for every holiday. During COVID, Joanne trudged through the snow to Ann’s window so Ann could see her while they talked on the phone. For 18 years Joanne was her family. I could write a book on how she became Ann’s family. Joanne was the kindness, thoughtful and sweetest person I have ever known. She will be missed by so many. She was a role model of how to be a good person. Our family are blessed because we knew her. Condolences to her family and extended family.

Joanne was a great friend. We first met in Lachute, Quebec, and we developed a close friendship for over 50 years. We would meet often when she came to Ottawa for business.
Joanne was always keen to help others in so many ways. She has earned her wings and she will fly. . It brings peace to know we have a special angel watching over us.
Thankyou to the family for allowing those who were not able to attend the service to participate virtually
