Hey Charlene, Paul, Brian and Lisa: It's always a sad and surprising shock to you when your parent(s) passes away. It doesn't seem to matter how prepared you think you are, you're not. I was sad to hear about Rene but glad to know he can now drive a motorized vehicle, scooter whatever it may be, beyond the great unknown. He's free.
I remember 60 years, him coming to our house on Wellington Avenue in the good Old West End to help my Mom with any electrical issues we needed help with. Mom would say, anytime she saw Bo with a screwdriver, "quick, call Rene!" After he was done saving us from perhaps having the house burn down (as you know) he and Charlotte would have a lovely chat about everything. 😄🤗
Take care of each other and I'll see you Saturday. XOXO Jeannie

So sorry to hear about Uncle Rene, You were very fortunate to have had him for as long as you did. Our thoughts are with you, Don & Monique Leger

Uncle Rene was a man of few words. He often stood back and listened. He had a quirky little smile and a twinkle in his eyes, that came out often when he saw or heard something was funny…..like he had a secret.
His children, my cousins, have the same little smile.
He will be missed, he and what we called his Uncle Rene hat.
Love Karen

Paul,Brian,Charlene and Lisa and families; I am so very saddened by the news of your father’s
passing. I believe he was the last surviving parent from Fownes St. I always remember Rene as being a true gentleman. I know my Dad always enjoyed your Dad’s company. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely, Carol Flynn Stokes

Uncle Rene’s passing represents the end of an era, at least for the Campbell side of the family; he was the last of his generation and finally gets to join the party with those who went before. The LeBlancs and Campbells have been intertwined since the early 1950’s and over the years, there have been innumerable occasions where we shared joy and laughter but unfortunately also grief and loss. We will remember Uncle Rene with much affection. I will always remember the story he told of growing up poor in Shediac where all they could afford to take for lunch were lobster sandwiches, how things do change! We wish we could have been with you during this difficult time but we will be there in spirit and will raise a glass in his honour. Love to you all.

Dear cousins,
My sincere condolences to all of you.
May Uncle Rene rest in eternal piece.
He is now wired to the heavenly lights, in shining glory.
I have such fond memories as a kid, every Sunday visiting grandfather (Albert) & grandmother (Eugenie) on Inglis Street.
A true gentleman he was, humble and sparkling in his fullness of being.
May his spirit remain within us all forever. The last of his Leblanc family, a legacy of love to us all!
