Just received word tonight about Sr. Mavis's death. My sympathy to her congregation and to Maura and Kathleen and to Tim and family.

I am so sorry, RIP my friend. Mavis lived next door to my grandmother so I have always known her. She was in my class at school. I am the friend who stopped to visit her on my way to PEI, last summer, you were just coming off Covid restrictions, so we met outside. So happy I did. WE attended Notre Dame d*Acadie together. I called her often. I have a Christmas card ready to mail now that the strike is over.

Je suis très attristée du départ de notre chère Mavis…une personne tellement humaine, attachante et empathique. Je l’ai connue à l’école de Beresford et aussi comme conseillère en anglais pour le district scolaire nord-est. Elle était aimée et respectée de tous les enseignants(es) de notre district. Elle a laissé sa marque dans notre région.â�¤ï¸�

Our sincere condolences to you and your loved ones during this difficult time. Mavis was a lovely and joyful neighbour to have. Her love for life and for others was contagious. Our daily visits with your best fur friend, Chico, was a ritual. I will always remember the hapiness and surprised look you had on your face when we visited you following Marc's graduation from Law School.
