Gérard W. Landry

Gérard W. Landry, 81, of O'Bons Soins Residence, Shediac and formerly of Bas Cap-Pelé passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, Moncton following a brief illness.

Born March 5, 1927 in Bas Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Antoinette (Cormier) Landry. Gérard was a fisherman prior to his retirement.

He will be sadly missed by a son Eugène (Marina) of Petit-Cap; four daughters: Alfreda Doiron (Terry), Francine LeBlanc (Everard) both of Bas Cap-Pelé, Marita LeBlanc (Gaston) of Haute-Aboujagane, Monette Landry (Roger Doiron) of Cap-Pelé; twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and by many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife Doris (Niles) Landry (2004), two daughters: infant Denise, and Janice Cormier; four sisters: Adeline, Jeanne, Lucienne, Archangela and by one brother Jean-Baptiste.

Visitation at Funérarium Frenette, 242 Acadie Rd., Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Friday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of departure 10:20 a.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Ste-Thérèse d'Avila Roman Catholic Church, Cap-Pelé. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.

Donations to the Ste Thérèse d'Avila Parish, Cap-Pelé (Cemetery Fund) or the Centre d'Habileté du Sud-Est (2648 Acadie Rd., Unit 1, Cap-Pelé, N.B. E4N1E4) would be appreciated.
